Rare Coastal Sequoia, that, by the way, shares genetic similarity (one of five relative species remaining) to South Carolina's Bald Cypress. This is in Golden Gate Park's Japanese garden. A quite impressive display. Also, the Acer palmatum sp. (Japanese Maple) to the side is a specimen shipped from Kyoto after WW II, or so I was informed by the kind botanist in the garden that day.
Also note species of grumpy mule attempting to smile in a self conscious manner.

I think u have a very CUTE smile Mulester! :)
Keshi.
I would have missed you as the Mule - where's the ears?
Golden Gate Park - near the Haight. Did you make it anywhere else in the City? Very nice picture.
impressive group!
keshi, thank you for dropping in. And I am flattered.
tsduff, this is one of my favorite world cities. I love it. I did not have long, but I also explored downtown, the Ferry building, the SFmoma, and the Mission (which I really enjoyed). What I missed, and I will have to visit next time, is Point Reyes. I have been there before and it is a treasured memory. How about Bolinas beach? I love that too. You know the city well?
ariel, most of them, yes. :)
There's great mexican food in the Mission. We just hop on the BART to go to the City - eliminate the driving mania. Give me the beaches over the City any day though... Bodega Bay, (Hitchcocks film The Birds was filmed there)oysters - YUMMMMM ...Bolinas, Pt. Reyes... I also have a treasured memory of that place with my Sweetie. Truly the Bay area is a gorgeous spot. Too crowded though.
Mulester lets dance :)
Keshi.
tsduff, I have always been a country boy at heart...so my ventures in to cities are more furtive missions with quick retreat to headlands. I will have to see Hitchcock Bay and try the oysters. Have you ever heard of this place? http://www.pelicaninn.com/
It is my secret so let's keep it betweeen friends.
keshi, the honor would be mine, of course.
you look young for your age! The ear-lobes gave it away though :)
I love trees, I really do...sometimes I get to climb them, not in Iceland of course. One of the two forrests is too far away and the nearest one, is kinda not so tall...so climbing would be a stretch :)
i would have missed you as the "OLD". great pic! xox neva
minka, I spent my entire childhood up in treehouses - not healthy for my deveopment as a functional social creature, but it did some things right.
neva, thank you. I act old and grouchy. But my old man still refers to me as a g-- d--- limberback, a term he uses for anyone under 50.
Do Grumpy Mules grow best in shade or sun?
Also, do they need lots of water?
:-)
hehe :)
Keshi.
jd, shade for sure. And they prefer spirits.
keshi, that laugh sounds mischievous. I like that.
