Mesa County, Sundown

Colorado, heading in to Utah. I had so much on my mind that Fall day, and I remember looking up, finally noticing everything before me, and breathing one of those deep, life-full inhales. All was well.

If we can just make ourselves understand the calmness that is without, perhaps we could live with a more tranquil peace. I know this is all very out of character, but I mean it.

I found your link on Jamie Dawn's blog and decided to follow it home. I'm glad I did, as your photos and accompanying vignettes are stunning in their poignancy. I so relate to your view of the world.

I look forward to reading more of your work, and hope you'll pop by my blog as well.

All the best,

Carmi

Beautiful photo, Mule. That sense of freedom from the dry land between the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada always brings a sense of release and calm which is probably why they call that country The Great Basin.

I can nearly smell the dust - and the sage brush. Beautiful picture, and I love your prose.

doug, thank you so much. I have not heard the "Great Basin" but that really fits.

tsduff, it was a nice drive. So open. Is that a good excuse for my speeding ticket?

ariel, I know what you mean. It really takes effort for me, but it always pays off when I do.

There are a few moments I can remember this release. Too few sadly, frightening how we hold ourselves back, isn´t it?
